In a country that continues to face economic turbulence, only a few executives have demonstrated the strategic agility and operational discipline required to transform legacy institutions into agile, modern entities. Labib Nasr, CEO of LIA Assurex SAL, is one of them.

With more than 25 years of hands-on experience in global insurance and brokerage operations, Mr. Nasr has emerged as one of Lebanon’s most respected and forward-thinking business leaders. At the helm of LIA Assurex, he has not only led a critical merger between LIA Insurance and Assurex in 2021 but also elevated the newly formed entity to rank third in the Lebanese insurance market by 2024, despite the country’s unprecedented economic conditions.

Speaking ahead of his participation in the AI in Lebanon Conference 2025, Mr. Nasr reflected on his journey:

“Leadership today is not about steering from a distance. It’s about being on the ground with your team, shaping strategy from real-time data, and never losing sight of the human factor in a high-tech world.”

Before joining Assurex in 2020, Mr. Nasr held position of CEO at ADIR Insurance SAL (2018–2020) and was Regional Director of Operations and Systems at NASCO Insurance Group (2016–2018).

Mr. Nasr’s leadership extends beyond his corporate role. In 2022, he joined the board of ACAL (Association des Companies d’Assurances au Liban), and in 2025, he was appointed as a board member at RDCL (Rassemblement De Dirigeants Et Chefs d’Entreprises Libanais), reflecting his growing influence in Lebanon’s broader economic and business policy landscape.

As AI and digital transformation begin to reshape the insurance sector, Mr. Nasr remains grounded yet ambitious:

“Artificial intelligence will not replace people, but it will transform how we make decisions, assess risk, and serve clients. Our mission is to harness this change to deliver more personalized, reliable, and affordable insurance to the Lebanese people.”

At the AI in Lebanon Conference 2025, Mr. Nasr will be contributing his insights during a panel on AI in Financial Services, exploring how automation, data analytics, and algorithmic underwriting are redefining the industry’s future.

With his feet firmly planted in Lebanon’s economic reality and his eyes on technological frontiers, Labib Nasr continues to prove that resilience, when matched with innovation, can rewrite even the most challenging chapters of a nation’s business story.
